Anopheles Mosquito
Male mosquitoes do not bite so cannot transmit malaria or other diseases. The adult females are generally short-lived, with only a small proportion living long enough (more than 10 days in tropical regions) to transmit malaria. Hence, male mosquitos cannot transmit malaria.

Only Anopheles mosquitoes can transmit malaria and they must have been infected through a previous blood meal taken from an infected person. When a mosquito bites an infected person, a small amount of blood is taken in which contains microscopic malaria parasites.
Malaria parasites are transmitted to human hosts by female mosquitoes of the genus Anopheles.
