Cirrhosis is a long-term (chronic) liver disease. The most common causes are hepatitis and other viruses, and alcohol abuse. If you suspect having liver cirrhosis then you are recommended to get tested and consult with a hepatologist at the earliest.
Regular exercise is key to a healthy liver. Exercise decreases stress on the liver, increases energy levels and helps to prevent obesity, a risk factor for liver disease. Aim for a total of 150 minutes of exercise, such as brisk walking or swimming per week.
If you have acute liver failure, common complications include bacterial and fungal infection and low blood sugar. Swelling of the brain is another side effect of acute liver failure. It is also one of the most serious conditions. One may experience confusion, abdominal swelling, and abnormal bleeding. Consult with a hepatologist at the earliest.
Lactic acid is an important molecule in cellular respiration, glucose production, regulation of inflammation, and molecular signaling. Under anaerobic conditions, glucose (and more specifically, pyruvate) is converted into lactic acid in order to produce energy for the cells.
Your doctor may suspect that you have it if you get abnormal results on liver tests that you had for other reasons. However, it is not easy to diagnose till one performs tests and CT scans.
