Measuring bicarbonate as part of an electrolyte or metabolic panel may help diagnose an electrolyte imbalance. It can also diagnose acidosis or alkalosis
If your count falls to 40,000 which is below the normal range then there is an increased risk of bleeding.
Thyrombocytopenia
This may be due to aplastic anemia, medications and certain cancers.
