Genetic diseases such as thalasemia or chronic anemia may cause low MCV and MCH levels
Do not look at the syringe when blood is being drawn
MCH quantifies the amount of hemoglobin per red blood cell. The normal values for MCH are 29 +- 2 picograms (pg) per cell. MCHC indicates the amount of hemoglobin per unit volume
It is upto you if you are comfortable you can look, otherwise people prefer looking at the other side
