CBC can detect several types of anemia depending upon the severity. they are microcytic anemia or small-sized red blood cells, normocytic anemia or normal-sized red blood cells, or macrocytic anemia or large-sized red blood cells
High MCV means that the RBC are too large and indicates macrocytic anemia.
One cannot test for anemia at home. One has to give the sample to the lab.
