With growing technology, most of us are found sitting at a desk and working in front of laptops and computers for hours. No matter how many breaks we take, this definitely takes a toll on our backs and makes them weak. While popping a painkiller might seem like your only option, yoga can be followed to treat back pain efficiently. Know about 5 such yoga poses that may help you strengthen your back again!
1. Cat-Cow Pose (Chakravakasana)
Cat-Cow Pose can help improve balance and posture and is, therefore, beneficial for people with back problems. It includes coordinated breath movements, which help in relieving anxiety.

2. Extended Triangle (Utthita Trikonasana)
The extended triangle is beneficial for strengthening the thighs and torso as well as stretching the spine. This position is also known to stimulate the abdominal organs, thereby improving digestion.

3. Sphinx Pose (Salamba Bhujangasana)
By loosening up tight areas around the spine and strengthening them at the same time, this position can aid with back discomfort. This therapeutic pose opens up the lower back, stretches the pelvic muscles and can help correct a slouched or stooped posture.

4. Locust Pose (Salabhasana)
Locust pose stretches and strengthens the back, thereby increasing spinal mobility. Sitting, for example, flexes the spine while the locust stance stretches it. It opens up the chest, which can help you stand up straighter and prevent slouching. Additionally, doing this asana can help improve your breathing, enhance digestion and tone your core, hip muscle, hamstrings, and calf muscles.

5. Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana)
Bridge Pose corrects posture and mitigates the negative consequences of prolonged sitting. It can prevent slouching, prevent abnormal curvature of the spine, and reduce lower back pain. This asana strengthens the back muscles, glutes, thighs and ankles.

Performing yoga on a daily basis helps a person mentally as well as physically. Yoga's relaxation practises can help people with chronic conditions such as lower back pain, rheumatoid arthritis, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Therefore, one must incorporate yoga into their daily routine to stay fit.
