Anything above 200mg/dl is dangerous during pregnancy and has to be followed by glucose intolerance test.
The glucose tolerance test is a lab test to check how your body stores sugar from the blood into tissues like muscle and fat.
High blood glucose levels during pregnancy can also increase the chance that your baby will be born too early, weigh too much, or have breathing problems or low blood glucose right after birth. It can also induce still births in pregnant woman. Hence, speak with a doctor if glucose is high.
Usually gestational diabetes has no symptoms, however, increased thirst and hyperglycemia may occur in woman who have gestational diabetes.
