A blood glucose level 200mg/dl or more is high and should be shown to a doctor immediately so that it does not affect the growing fetus.
Anything above 200mg/dl is dangerous during pregnancy and has to be followed by glucose intolerance test.
The glucose intolerance test is done during pregnancy to screen for gestational diabetes that develops during pregnancy.
It is done to diagnose diabetes such as fasting glucose. However, post prandial is done after 2 hours to check how the body stores sugar in muscles after food consumption after 2 hours.
