Prediabetes is a health condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes.
It is recommended to have 50% non-starchy vegetables, 25% lean proteins and salads.
In general less than 100 mg/dL (5.6 mmol/L ) is normal. 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/L ) is diagnosed as prediabetes. 126 mg/dL (7.0 mmol/L ) or higher on two separate tests is diagnosed as diabetes.
Prediabetes can be managed by eating low carbs and high proteins. Along with food an active lifestyle can not only help manage but also help reverse this condition.
When your doctor detects prediabetes, do not panic, remember this condition can be reversed by exercising well and eating the right foods.
