नि:शुल्क बीटा HCG (मानव चोरीयनिक गोनाडोट्रॉपिन) गर्भावस्था के दौरान प्लेसेंटा द्वारा उत्पन्न किया जाता है। यह परीक्षण गर्भावस्था की पुष्टि करने, गर्भाशय के बाहर होने वाली गर्भावस्था, संभावित गर्भपात और डाउन्स सिंड्रोम की स्क्रीनिंग के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है। महिलाओं में बीटा HCG के उच्च स्तर अलग-अलग प्रकार के अंडाशय कैंसर और पुरुषों में टेस्टिकल कैंसर की भी संकेत कर सकते हैं। बीटा HCG सामान्यत: पुरुषों और महिलाओं में कम मात्रा में मौजूद होता है, बीटा HCG का स्तर गर्भावस्था के प्रारंभिक दौरान बढ़ता है और डिलीवरी के बाद अनिर्दिष्ट स्तरों पर गिर जाता है। यह परीक्षण किसी विशेष एंटीकैंसर दवाओं के साथ उपचार की मूल्यांकन और पेशेंट के उत्तरदाता और उसके प्रभावकारिता की जांच के लिए भी उपयोग किया जाता है।

रक्त का नमूना कैसे लिया जाता है?

रक्त का नमूना लेने के लिए, ऊपरी बांह पर एक टर्निकेट (इलास्टिक) बैंड टाइटली रखा जाता है। फिर मरीज से एक मुठ्ठी बनाने के लिए कहा जाता है। यह रक्त से भराई वेन की नसों में खून भरने में मदद करता है और रक्त लेना आसान हो जाता है। जबकि कीटाणुओं को रोकने के लिए नीडल को वेन में डालने से पहले त्वचा को साफ किया जाता है। नीडल आर्म की वेन में डाला जाता है और रक्त का नमूना वेक्यूटेनर में एकत्र किया जाता है।

इकटोपिक गर्भावस्था और उसके लक्षण क्या हैं?

एक्टोपिक गर्भावस्था एक ऐसी गर्भावस्था है जहाँ परिगर्भित अंडा गर्भाशय के बाहर स्थापित होता है और इसके लक्षण में कम कमर दर्द, असामान्य यौन रक्तस्राव, पेट के एक ओर दर्द, तेज पेट के दर्द, चक्कर, कमजोरी, इत्यादि शामिल हो सकते हैं।

क्या बीटा एचसीजी केवल गर्भावस्थाओं का पता लगाने के लिए प्रयोग किया जाता है?

नहीं, बीटा एचसीजी को ओवेरीज और टेस्टिकल कैंसर के कुछ ट्यूमर्स का पता लगाने के लिए भी प्रयोग किया जाता है।

वहां कौन सी स्थितियां हैं जहां बीटा एचसीजी स्तर कम होते हैं?

बीटा एचसीजी के स्तर आम तौर पर गणना गर्भावस्था की गलत आयु, संभावित गर्भपात, एकटोपिक गर्भावस्था इत्यादि में कम होते हैं।
