It is used to diagnose infertility, testicular tumours, ambiguous genitalia, erectile dysfunction, pituitary tumours in men, lack of menstruation, obesity, extra hair growth (especially on the face), appearance of masculine features in females and is an indicator for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

How is the blood sample taken?

To take the blood sample, a tourniquet (elastic) band is placed tightly on the upper arm. The patient is then asked to make a fist.
