People with diabetes are more likely to suffer from heart disease because over time, high blood sugar can damage blood vessels and the nerves that control your heart.
Over time, high blood glucose levels can damage the body's organs. Possible long-term effects include damage to large (macrovascular) and small (microvascular) blood vessels, which can lead to heart attack, stroke, and problems with the kidneys, eyes, gums, feet and nerves.
If blood sugar raises to a very high level then the patient can experience mental confusion and dizziness. In worst cases the patient can also slip into coma. Hence, you are advised not to let blood sugar levels rise beyond 300.
